Go fuel injected. It will wake that engine up.

All about that unibody life.

Does your 4.2 have a carb still? Swapping to a webber or motocraft is effective. Or you could go with a head/computer/ wiring swap from a junkyard 4.0 Cherokee. Fill out your profile!!!!! And read the 'stickey' threads at the top of the yj section!!!! The most patient of us, que, is layed up for a while, so do your homework before asking for answers on the test.

the mods I'm happiest I put on my 90 was MC2100 and HEI. Next was stripping out every piece of soft and fuzzy so I could herculine the whole tub. If you think you going topless often and leaving it out make yourself a vinyl dash cover! they say the gauges are water resistant but days in the rain will prove them wrong. I made mine with a bungee closure so I can pop it over the dash pad and stretch it to some hooks under the dash. I haven't had to replace the radio since I started using the cover

heres some posts on pretty much every mod available for the 4.2
https://www.google.com/webhp?source=...w=1360&bih=643
you can read the ones I did in my profile, I'm very happy with the results.
But, with 35" tires you need to do gears before any engine mods.

Do everything with a positive attitude, it won't always work but you'll piss enough people off to make it worthwhile.

the voices aren't real but they sure have good ideas.
