Made some mirrors today (Pictures)

I used some old (1981) Ford F-150 mirrors on my YJ. I cut them down, tweaked them a little with a slight bend, and drilled one hole. They bolt up with one nut and bolt. The cost FREE! I think they look alright and they work excellent.

Nice mod! They look like you could swing them in fairly easily if things get tight. Is that a correct assumption?

Nice job. You've given me an idea how to mount to the windshield hinge.

Free is always good.

I think I may have found my mirror solution for when topless season comes around again.

This is in rough form. I currently have a carb and in the near future I will be installing a TPI system from an IROC Z-28 with a painless harness to clean up the wires that you see all over the place. The engine is strong it came out of my friends 79 Z-28. It's got World Products heads and is a real screamer. Once TPI is installed I will post pics. Regards Glenno

If you grind the metal close enough to the mount hole they could swing out of the way. I left more metal there so mine currently can't swing out of the way. I may remove more metal in the future. I simply unbolt and remove completely in thirty seconds. That work great, can see very clearly everything behind me. Not just little glimpses of what's behind but complete vehicles. Regards Glenno

Hey wait a minute!!

If a mirror reverses an image from right to left, and you have now flipped them on their side, isnt everything upside down?

Seriously, one of the nicest mirror fab jobs Ive seen...good work.
