The throttle body wasn't too bad. Had a bit of build up around where the butterfly valve seats. But the IAC was horrible. I thought it was painted black. Nope, bare metal for sure. I sprayed the hell out of everything in there. Hopefully it'll all be good. Is there a rebuild kit avail for the throttle body? If there is I think I may do that. Although, It doesn't seem like there is a lot to replace. Mostly gaskets and sensors.

Problem not solved. The amount at which it does it is less than before. But still there. I think I'm going to try a new IAC. I have a spare one off an old throttle body that I picked when I had the chance. I'll try that one and see if it improves at all. Just need to find it. I know it doesn't have anything to do with my battery and such. As having my radio and sub blasting, heater on full and lights on. Doesn't affect it in any way. Plus it's mostly new now. And I just checked. No codes. 12,33,55.

Is it stalling when the idle fluctuates? Does it make a difference hot/cold? Can you video it and post it up?

Not trying to hi-jack this thread, but my 95 is doing the same thing. I replaced the spark plugs and wires and every since then it idles down to almost dying every time I push in the clutch. I will be following this thread for ideas as to what it could be. Let us know what you figure out.

Once the jeep is hot and stays that way it's fine. But if I drive it while it's warming up, my gauge shows 40,100,125 and at the halfway mark between 40 and 100 is where it seems to do it. If the jeep sits and cools down to that point it will do it again. I'll try my best to get a video. Normally hard since I'm in heavy stop go traffic when it happens. The new/used iac did not help with it this morning.

So the cleaning the IAC did make a difference but you have fluctuation still until warm and in closed loop. That is a hige clue. Do you have a meter to check the coolant temp sensor?

That is correct. My brother has a meter for that specifically from the mech course from NAIT. Do you know how I should test it? And is that the one on the thermostat housing or the doodad on the back of the manifold. Would it cause any other problems?

Thermostat housing. It is a resistance reading. Cold should be high 10,000 ohms or more and warm should be ar around 900. Here is the chart.

It has been a few years now but had the same issue..Read here about cleaning the TPS, In the process of doing that I noticed a empty vacuum port on the throttle body. I looked around and couldn't find a vacuum line laying around so I plugged it and it corrected my problem.. You might look for that

So I went to do the ohm test today. And when I unplugged my sensor I found that one of the connectors in the pigtail seemed to be pushed in. Picture to follow. So I plugged it back in and tried starting it. She almost didn't start.
Once I got it started I got a code 22 CEL. Sensor below or above acceptable voltage. Now it's hard to start. I'll post the resistance in just a couple of minutes. Is the picture normal?

For the ohm test I'm getting 1.51
And that's warm
This is what my meter looks like.

Pushed the wire back into the pigtail. Fixed the starting and CEL issue. But still idles bad. Can anyone decode the 1.51 I got with my tester? I'm not at all handy with that stuff. Thanks again.

And I just warmed it up again and got .82 at operating temp.
