You can make some faux flatties like jonzjeepyj did. In my opinion, they look as good as most of the tube kits out there because it retains some of the yj pieces.

here's a different twist on the flat fender idea..... I used expanded mesh instead of plate, not much mud here in Arizona to worry about.

i havent came up with anything for the rear yet....

I did the front mainly because of rubbing issues. I want to do the rears eventually, but they dont rub with my junk springs and shocks, so thats on the back burner, if you know what i mean.

so much to do, so little time (and money)

I wont lie, those front fenders took me FOREVER.... lol.

If you have access to some basic tools and are fair at fabbing you can use my idea. I purchased flat trailer fenders from a local steel supplier. I used an angle grinder to cut them in half lengthwise. I made a template out os flatstock that matches the inside dimensions of the fenders and the new fenders. welded them together and used the stock mounting holes. Total time maybe 3 hours, cost $45.

Does anyone know if those flares with the wire will pass inspection in mass?

I did a similar style with perforated metal. I used this because I already had it and my thinking was that if too much stuff came through I would just line the inside with tire tread or some other rubber; I would think the same Plan B would work in MA if there is an inpsection issue. So far it's been fine, but we have no rain here so it's just there to block stones.
