LoD Swing Away Tire Carrier + Bumper

Ok,

So I have been looking for a swing away tire carrier combo for the last 4 months. And I really wanted a garvin rack but they were all back ordered. So I started searching and I found this one.

It was less than $400 shipped.

LoD Bumpers

I was figured that if I got this one and it was el-cheapo I would put it on my DD TJ.

Has anyone seen one of these. I am not a real hardcore off roader so I was thinking it would be ok.

any input is appreciated.

johnny

Well I got it today. It looks pretty good. It was just about as heavy as I thought it was gonna be. I wont be able to install it until monday or so because I am going to a Jeep Jamboree in about 3 hours.

The hitch look sturdy and the powder coating looks amazing.

It doesn't look like it's poorly built, but there are no options to expand on it yet much like the Warn swing-away.

If you are fine with no Jerry can mounts/wilderness rack/highlift mount options to it then the price is about the same as others that don't offer the same.

Oh sorry,

I ended up getting LoD one.

I will be putting in on the YJ later this week.

I just got back from the Canadian Jeep Jamboree and let me tell you it was an awesome time. Even my little rubicon did well.

Yea I got it on kinda, My jeep had a little damage on the rear where it attaches so my bumper seems to shake a lot. The problem does not lie within the bumper, its my jeep. I previously had a el-cheapo reese hitch attached to the same bolt holes that hold on the bumperetts, I pulled the bumper and the bumperetts off one night.

I also seemed to have stripped out the bolts that hold the bumper on from the bottom. I thought they were 3/8" but I was wrong I think they are 10mm.

So as usual its just one problem after another.

Well other than the issues with your jeep, how do you feel about this bumper so far? Is it quality built, easy to assemble?
Just wondering cause I'm pretty sure this will be my next bumper.
Thx

To tell you the truth I have never really closely inspected any other tire carriers. I thought it would be heavier than it is, but it certainly is beefy enough. I mean I just put the warn winch on the front of the jeep last fall and that certainly is heavier than this bumper/tire carrier.

It was a breeze to assemble. I like the hitch and the tow points on the rear of it.

I should have the welding done on mine later this week and then I should be able to let you know what i really think of it.
