just bought a 93 YJ, 4 cy, 5 spd. don't know nuttin about jeeps...except..it seems that i am gonna have to spend about $800 for a hub conversion kit to manually lockout the hubs. Is there any other way? Does my model have a vacuum disconnect? I will be towing the jeep behind a RV and want to reduce the rolling friction and wear on the components. Help !!
yes there is a vacume disconect. it is in the pasenger side of the axle. if all you are woried about is reducing the moving parts, you can just unbolt the driveshafts when you tow the jeep and put if back when you get where you are going. if still want hubs. i know a place that can get those warn hub conversion for 700 but i would rather build a new axle for that price. take an old bronco's axles and put it in
