Lock right install/ D30 question

I have the 4.10 gear set which means you have to remove the carrier. When you reinstall the carrier there was a C clip on the passenger side axle.

It's not mentioned but I take it you don't reinstall the clip with the lock right?

Over all it's a pretty basic install but I can't get around this detail and I guessing since there isn't any room you can't make it happen anyway.

You don't need the c clip. The shafts are held in place if there is a wheel and unit bearing attached. If not, you're gonna need more than a c clip

Thanks! That's what I figured but I get hung up on details. Like if that was the case then why did they have one in the first place? I don't see the need. Incase some one needed to run with out the outer axle?
