In an open carrier, the power/torque will take the path of least resistance.

In mud, often the traction (or lack thereof ) is about equal & both sides will spin/have power with an open diff.

I'd upgrade the front, but pass on spending $ on the D35C.

I suppose it's possible that you already have a limited slip in the rear. It was optional. If it does, it's ~15 years old and more than likely worn out (if you do have one).

You could pull the cover (or, if you are savy remove the filler plug) and take a look inside to see if it's open or factory LSD. A small inspection mirror & light can be used to see if it has an LSD thru the fill plug.

Be advised, those rubber fill plugs are a POS & tear easily & then leak like a siv.
