Did you check for power at the switch before you replaced it?
If there was no power then it ain't the switch. If there was incoming power but nothing /after/ the swtich and it is on, then it might be the switch. If there was power /after/ the switch, then the front wiring harness and/or connector is suspect.
Sooner or later at some point along the harness there will be power on one side of something and not on the other. THAT will be the thing needing to be fixed.
It all started with a '91 2.5 Wrangler and a simple 4.2 motor swap.
It got way out of control...
