Lift vs. Tube Fenders

Hi everyone, i have a RC 2.5 lift but want to go to 33's i was thinking of goin to a 4.5 or 6 inch lift but seeing as ill need a SYE and driveshaft i was thinking of just getting tube fenders for now and later i can get a 4.5 and have enough room for 35's or so. any ideas will be great.

tube fenders will gain you a fair amount of room, especially if you cut the back out. When I did mine I decided halfway through to go high line on the front and now have plenty of room for 35's.

2 1/2 OME springs with 5/8 shackles and 1" body lift.

well if you where over at pirate4x4 forum, they would tell you to go tube fenders, cuz you can retain a lower center of gravity. i agree but i love a rig that has 4-6 inches of lift, put 35s or bigger and you have a really big stance. but its up to you, what do you want to see in your rig? more lift means for goods you need to run it, sye, bigger tires mean your gunna want to regear at some point to.

also remember your local state laws, in maine we need fender flares to cover the entire tire. they will pull you over and tow our rig to a impound lot if its a lot of expose tire.

I have a 2.5" lift with 1" shackles and TJ "style" flares (Bushwackers) and I'm running 33's. They rub the fenders (the METAL fenders that is), so I am upgrading to some MetalCloak tube fenders front and rear. I'm hoping to see them sometime next week.

With them, I'm thinking of actually pulling off the 1" shackle lift, as I'll still have a ton of room for the 33's to move. That, or maybe bump to 35's.

Not necessarily. You want some clearance for your rockers and belly skid.

if you do TJ flares they can run 60-150 bucks(depending on the deal you find) 1" body lift 130 and a hi line do it your self. basically free(just time) hi line raises your fenders up almost 2.5" then the body lift and flares. WOW!!...... 3.5 with hi line alone. you could fit 32" easy

see my pix above. I bought the tube kit from offroadutopia.com and modified it do do the highline.

you have to cut and weld yourself. no idea if there is a ready made high line kit but I bet there is.

LCOG builds are what people what to do, I dont like the look at of the Jeeps with 2ins of lift and 40s, though some do. I like the look of 6 ins or more of lift and 35 or 37s, though some dont.

The question is what to do you like?
