Lift Kits

What does everyone think on the SkyJacker 4" lift kit, or the 4" Super lift...

What about some other lifts... I am looking into getting a new one...

Thanks
Allan

I wouldn't touch a Skyjacker lift. Horrible reputation on YJs and CJs alike. The Superlift is better, but still not known for lasting forever. I still don't think any production kit out there comes close to the performance you'll get from the RE 4.5" Extreme Duty. Not to mention the RE lift is the only complete lift out there. Why the other lifts never include a drop pitman arm I still don't understand. Pay more, but pay once.

I like my Superlift for my 2.5 (w/o a winch - not for long though) as it's pretty flexy and was resonably priced. In your sig it shows you have a Superlift though, are you not happy with it? Matt is right though the RE XD is the way to go if you got the scratch (wish I did, actually, I prolly go SOA before the RE XD, but that's not what you were asking). Have a buddy who's had a SkyJacker for 6 months and he is looking for something else.

No officer, that wasn't an accident. I did that on purpose...

The superlift that is on there right now, was on the Jeep when i bought it for this guy.
He didn't take alot of time when putting things on it. He didn't even put a kit on, just springs and a t-case drop.
It is a little bounce. Not sure how old it is but the driver spring is all jacked up...

Springs, u-bolts, bumpstops, sway bar links, shocks, a t-case drop (6 spacers and longer allen key bolts = crap) and track bar relocation brackets are pretty much all you get with a Superlift.

Some of this stuff isn't needed, ie. the track bar relocation bracket for the rear (just dump the bar) and the extended sway bar links can be used to make quick disconnects. Match up the bolts for the t-case drop and used grade 8 hex head bolts (you'll be glad you did when you go to take them out for an SYE). The extended bumpstops aren't needed either if you have a 2" body lift and plan to run 33s (based on my experience), so you can run standard u-bolts as you don't need the larger one to fit over one side of the bumpstop.

But, like Matt said earlier, the RE XD is the way to go if you're going for serious performance from an SUA lift.

Just one more question. Would the rear drive shaft be ok with the 4.5" suspension lift and the 2" body lift...

How hard would it be to take to 2" body lift off and where could i get some stock body mounts to replace the 2" body lift.

Pretty sure you'll have to go with an SYE and CV d-shaft with the RE XD.

Why do you want to get rid of the body lift? Personally, I like a body lift if for no other reasons than it's easier to clean/paint/work on crap underneath without that annoying body tub in the way...

Not sure how old the body lift is, but one of the bolts is broke off inside the tub and the body sits a little funny on the frame... Any suggestions on how to fix this problem???

Allan

Or would it be better to just go with the procomp coil conversion for the extra money. It would give a better ride and with the 5" lift on it from the procomp coil conversion i would have more clearance. Does anyone have any other information on this lift...
OR
What would be better to do..
With either one I would have to do a SYE Right. Or would a CV Driveshaft be better for the same price...

if you hop, skip, and jump over to the jeeps unlimitied site, and check out <search for group buys> some guys trying to get a group buy discount on SYE kits for np231, so,, get in on that, it's an advance adapter kit, and something like 300 bucks.....
