Lets see those seats
So I am in need of new seats. Rather than go with the stock look. Does anyone have any seat ideas. Seats from other cars that fit nice? I hear mustang seats work fairly well.
Any help would be great. CT

Thank. I saw that thread. The SLK seats look great in that rig. Searched around town and they run about $700. Soooo still need other options. And I have the 8.8 in the rear and to be honest that's all the Ford I can take so I think the mustang seats are out.

what about the guy that used the seats from a Kia? Looks like it involves welding which is way beyond me but they do look cool. Most of the jeep catalogs sell all kinds of seats that are pretty inexpensive and will bolt right in. Try www.4wd.com
or www.quadratec.com. They should have what u need.

I went with the Poly racing seats and padded seat covers.. Cheap, easy to clean and supprisingly pretty comfortable.
Welded two flatbar's across the stock sliders and then bolted right up. About $160 total. Pepboy's carries some stylish and comfortable seats for about $150 each.

That's why I'm going with a Mopar 8 3/4.Back to the seats. If you can weld, you should be able to fit just about any seat in there that you like. You can fabricate mounting brackets to position the seat however you like it. So bottom line, find something that looks good, and in my case, cheap, and throw it in. ![]() |

I bet that Ford doesn`t even make their own seats. Just like most rims from auto manufactures that I have seen are stamped Rockwell.

Try suspension seats like the Mastercraft Rubicon they bolt right into YJ's. Your seat will thank you.

I found a few at the local u-pull bone yard yesterday. They're from a 2000 Montero. The grey matches perfectly and will be an easy mod to get them on the stock sliders.
They have a great feel, huge bolsters, inside armrest, tilt, heat(dunno if I can make this work) and lumbar. 14 clams each in perfect shape. and they are exactly the same width as my stock yj seats. The height on the butt part is 1" higher than stock and the top of the seat with adjustable headrest on is about 2" taller than stock. Also, and this is pretty cool. There is a matched pair of the 3rd row flip up rear buckets. These flold up and then up on the wheelwells, gull wing like, and are indepentant to gain a bit more rear storage when needed. With just a small bit of modding, these will drop right in. I'm pullin them today and will do a short write up as I install them. |

Well the Mitsubishi fronts worked great, almost a direct bolt in. They are so much better than stock.
The rears, well, I need a bit more time. They are about 1.5 inches so wide. So I ponering raising them up or just settling back to the only fold and tumble. Pics to follow. |
