the fender flares will most likely be extended tj flares. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the cage or top yet. If i go with the unlimited top, i will need to get the unlimited cage or build my own. I've already done a preliminary search around the area for an unlimited cage, but there are none to be had. If i could find one it would most likely be expensive. The other option is to modify the cage i have, but then I'd have to make a custom top because the bars between the main hoop and the windshield are too far apart to use a tj style top.
I wouldn't mind a scrambler hardtop, but that would mean getting a pair of hard doors (which i hate) to make it look good. Since my budget is already stretched a bit thin, I'm probably going to go with whatever option is the cheapest.

Yeah I'm keeping my Renix 4.0 until it dies... which might not be too far away. After that i'm going to swap in a newer 4.0 or maybe a small diesel. It might be the lighting in power tech, but that khaki has a bit of a green tint to it.

update
Ok so i got the frame mostly back together.
![]() i started by making a cardboard template of the shape i wanted to make. ![]() I then got it all layed out on the 4"x3" .25 wall tubing. ![]() ![]() then cut them out. Once i had the wedges cut off of the ends, the sides bowed out quite a bit. ![]() I ground the edges down a little since the frame material is only 1/8" thick. I then test fit the pieces in between the frame rails. The back of one of the tabs had to be cut off to clear the fuel tank cross member. ![]() I used the angle finder to get the piece in at about the right angle and tack welded it in. I had to use a C-clamp to hold the sides of the tube up to the frame since it had bowed out. I repeated this process for the other side. ![]() to get the rear part of the frame up to match, i used a floor jack with a 2X4 to lift the rear up a little bit. it only moved about 1/4" until the frame started coming up off of the jack stands. i moved it the rest of the way with a C-clamp. I then tacked it up and repeated for the other side. ![]() ![]() Then i welded them up. They're only about 1/2 way welded right now, i need to jack the body off of the frame a little to get to everything, but that will have to wait until after Thanksgiving. Some of the welds turned out pretty well while some weren't so great. I've got my welder cranked up as far as she'll go, so we'll see how it goes. I'll grind the bad ones off and do it again. Another thing i'm going to have to contend with is the fuel filler. I was just going to fill the tj filler hole in the crusher corner and cut one out in the stock location, but then i realized that the light holes in these corners are closer together than stock. ![]() the circle is where the light goes. Looks pretty bad I know. So, I'm trying to decide what to do. I might try to get the TJ filler to work, or i might just move the stock filler farther inwards to match the lights.

I vote for the TJ filler!
I've been wanting to relocate mine there for some time now!

something that might help a little is more shielding gas.. (the brown dust around your welds indicates not enough gas...
