nope, it's strong enough to hold my weight right now and the frame isn't even welded up yet. When I add in the frame and the rollbar, it'll be even more solid.

well my crusher corners rolled in a couple of hours ago, so tomorrow I'm going to have to track down some spray primer, paint, and 3/16th plate to patch in the TJ fuel filler hole. I would have ordered them without the filler hole but poison spyder isn't exactly in business anymore. Should be easy enough though. The rig is going to get a rattle can paint job as well, but that might have to wait until it's drivable so i can take it outside.

update

Well I got the passenger corner on, and it turned out pretty well. I first got it attached with a couple of C-clamps to get it lined up, then i traced the wheel well and cut it out.

Then did a little bondo work to smooth things out a little bit. it's about 1/32" at the thickest.

After that i scuffed up the paint and sprayed down a layer of primer.

I wanted to make it a desert tan color, but i couldn't find any in ellensburg. I did find some Krylon Camo Khaki in ultra flat though, so i went with that. The flat is nice because it hides little flaws and dries quickly.

Although the corners were meant for a TJ unlimited, they lined right up. The only problem i had with the passenger side was that one of the bolt locations had to be moved. not a big deal though, I just welded it up and drilled/countersunk a new one.

Filled

And almost finished, i just need to get some lights to fill the holes. To fill the gap behind the door, i'm going to either make some new sliders that extend back far enough, or add on to the ones i have. I"ll probably weld them to the crusher corners so there isn't a gap.

I was going to get the driver's side done tonight but my professor came by and took the welder over to the other building for the welding class, so it'll have to wait.

you should look into cutting back the inner fender to match the new wheel well location this could make room for custom box for extra storage, air tank or many other items.
Also Awesome build I wish I had the time and tools to do this type of work.

I know someone (me) who might be interested in buying those sliders if you decide to sell them!
Great project! It looks like you're doing really nice work!

You gonna get some TJ tailgate hinges to fill the gaps on those crusher corners? Or you just gonna add some metal around the YJ hinges?

I considered cutting the wheel wells back a bit for more space, but i think I'm going to box them in from below and cut access hatches on the top. I'm not sure yet though, at this point it's kind of low priority. I also haven't figured out what i'm going to do with the hinges either. I'll cross that bridge when i get to it.

I'm going to either buy or make longer sliders to fill it in.

are you going to fab up a cage or use an LJ cage? i personally think it would be cool to use an LJ cage and soft-top. you would really get double takes
