It is very easy. There are lots of of threads about it. It's a 194 wedge based bulb for most of the gauges. You can find them at superbrightleds.com

Plug and play tho. Very easy!

It sounded easy and since this is a project from the ground up everything is apart right now. Thanks for the response!

Might look at this for your gauges at jeepwhiteguages.com. They have various colors for the gauge faces. If you do it make sure you get the needle paint if yours are faded.

Oppss. The website does not recommend using LED bulbs. Sorry, bad suggestion.

So when I replace the bulbs I have to replace the plastic plates and paint the needle? I'm not sure what to call it haha!

No, you don't have to do anything else when you change to the LED lights. I had installed some of the white face gauge covers on another YJ and thought they looked nice. I read the info on the website and it states that if you use LED lights don't use the white face gauge covers. So, my bad for suggesting them.

I'm using red LEDs to match the head unit Red color. Things show up just fine with the stock gauges. I've though about doing the blue one side, red other side LED for the speedometer and tachometer so you get this blue fade to purple fade to red look on the gauge face, just haven't gotten around to it yet, but yeah, the red ones are just fine.

I also use red ones and can see everything just fine. Although I have Autometer Phantom II's for all the gauges except the speedo and tach. I'm cheap so I ordered a bunch of LED's on eBay that came from China, I think I got all I needed plus extras for less than $15 including shipping.

What about 120 degree? That's the highest options besides 90 on the bright light LEDs website

I'm sure it will work, but seemed to me the number I noted in a 194 wedge base bulb with 220 degree spread is better. I just looked at the super bright led site and it's there.
