leaky gas tank?

So I filling up yesterday in my 1993 yj with a 4.0 and I noticed that there was fuel coming out of somewhere on top of the gas tank as I got it to nearly full. I know my gas tank is plastic so I'm wondering if it is the sender ring gasket? Anyone have any experience with this before?

could be anything from vent to the filler neck cracked. If its not leaking bad run it till low on fuel and drop the tank. NOT fun to drop tank with full load of fuel

Thanks, yeah that was my plan. Im installing a 4" lift kit next weekend so I figured that would be a good time to drop the tank and take a look while its up on a lift.

The fuel pump/sending unit seal is also common to rot and fail. It's a 10 dollar part, but was hard for me to find local. I would suggest buying one ahead of time and just change it. It beats having a useless jeep for a few days waiting on parts.
