Leaking power steering pump

I have some videos but after reviewing them, they don't really show much of what I just saw.

I heard a bearing-going-bad kind of noise the last time I drove the Jeep, so I brought it home and parked it, and have been driving my Taurus for a week or so.

What I saw was a steady stream of power steering fluid coming from just behind the pulley. This was a stream, not a drip. It pretty well flooded my driveway. I didn't see it coming from the hoses, it was definitely coming from just behind the pulley, like where the pulley shaft would be.

Am I correct in diagnosing this as a bad pump? I don't want to buy a replacement pump tomorrow just to find out that there is something else I could have checked behind that pulley.

Also - do I need to buy a new pulley when I buy the pump?

I had the same issue, found out it was a pin hole in the pressure hose. I found it when I started the jeep , I had to put the hood against the windshield stand on the side and turn the wheel all the way to one side and seen a stream of fluid coming out. This was squirting on the pulley so I thought I had a bad pump as well., this was after I had replaced the Power Steering pump. So check the hoses really well.

I'm pretty confident after removing the pulley that it was NOT a pinhole in a hose.

No, shaft seal grenaded. BAD.

As I was removing the pulley, my son was helping me and said, "Dad, there are pieces of metal falling off..."
