What does something like this cost to replace them all in a 88, great write-up that looks great.

I have an 90 YJ and I am in the process on ripping the dash apart to do my lights also. I have the gauge cluster with the retarded clock in the center.
The bulb count for the 90 YJ is:

Gauge Cluster: #194 bulb (x6)
Speedo #194 (x2)
Tach #194 (x2)
HVAC #194 (x1)
TOTAL #194 bulbs = 11

There is also 7 #74 bulbs used for the following indicators:
Left turn signal
Right turn signal
High Beam
4WD
Emergency Brake
Hazard Light
as well as one to the right of the steering wheel behind the dash to light up your switches
TOTAL #74 bulbs = 7

I am also in the process of making my own gauge overlays, I am trying different colors and designs to see what looks best. I will post pictures when I get closer to finished, hopefully this weekend. I have blue and white LED's to try. I will post pics of both.

I also picked up my LED's from Pep Boys, they stock them in the different colors, they ran $10.00 for a pack of two.

I have contacted the member, awaiting his reply.

SOME LED's are polarized. Some are not, it depends on how the circuitry is constructed.

The 4-LED bulbs are 90 degree light versus 35 degree light for the 6-LED. With that in mind... wouldn't a 4-LED be better because the light would spread out more evenly?

For the tach and speedometer, that could be a possibility. However for the 2 that go to light up the 4 gauges along the center of the dash, I would definitely stick with the 6-LED because the gauges themselves are lit up with light gathering plastic tubes that are pointed directly at the lights.

If you'd like, I can put them up for you. Just pm me whenever you get them and I'll give you my email address. No hurry though, I am just curious how green looks.

Glad you got them up
I think it looks good. It kind of gives the Jeep an eerie look I can kind of see what you mean about how the needle blends in though.
If I get the time/motivation, I may look into doing this to mine as well

I did this on my F250 a couple of years ago and mine were polarized.

I hated it because of the fact that you cannot dim the LED's. It's either full on, or off.
