ok one question i have a 90 yj sport and i have a knock sensor that i have a question about ok does the knock sensor distrubt performace and if so is it safe to remove the knock sensor and how would i come to do that and would it make a differnece
I would not remove the knock sensor if that was my vehicle. It is on there for a reason of adjusting ignition timing, I beleive. I think that if you remove it you may notice an uneven idle, possible shaking and stumbling too.
88 YJ...kinda. Clayton Hard Arms, V8, 1 tons running gear, twin sticked, Irok's, fuel cell, multi-colored
King of Macastan
Yeah and you could cause other really bad things to happen as well. The computer sues that knock sensor to properly adjust everything so it all runs good. Nothing sucks worse than blowing a piston/engine 10 miles into the woods. Leave it alone. If it's acting like its bad REPLACE IT.
