key lock clip removal

how do you remove the key switch clip and key warnimg buzzer contacts
it says in the chilton book to turn the switch to the on position and pull it out i tried but no matter what i do it wont come out and they also sy to use a thin screw driver to remove switch clip? i tried a thin screw driver a dental pick and there is no way i could get it out,
what is it im doing wrong, had to reassemble the whole thing because i have to go to work tomorrow

Some have a screw and some have a push style clip in them. Here is the write up I used

Once you find it it will pretty much just fall out (at least mine did)
