Just installed a 1" body lift. Problem staying in reverse.

Ignore the "reverse body lift" in the title, it's not one of those.
Well, I got it installed ok. Would have been easy if it wasn't so damned difficult.
Actually, the only problem I had was trying to get one of the stock steel inserts out of the bushing. Other than that it was fairly easy. The only issue -and I knew it would be one because once upon a time I had a transfer case drop, is that I have to hold the shifter when in reverse or it will pop out. Do I just need to cut the floor pan to allow the shifter to move far enough?

Yeah, that would be the result of not checking my post for spelling and other strange wordings. Thanks for pointing it out. It's your regular run of the mill body lift I installed.

YES! Immediately! Cut the floor pan. ---- Or you will soon be buying a new transmission. I had the same problem after installing a lift w/t-case drop. It would pop out of reverse every once in a while and eventually it stripped the reverse gear. When the tranny was disassembled and the reverse gear taken out, it was completely smooth without any teeth left. Cut your floor pan now, to allow clearance for your shifter. Another thing to watch, is the metal ring holding the shift boot in place might also be a cause of the shifter not engaging fully. You might have to relocate the trim ring slightly to the rear to give clearance.
