Just Got A Holley Avenger Carb And...

I just bought a 470 cfm holley truck avenger carb and im putting it on my 4.2. i didnt think about the fact that the stock air box isnt going to fit on the new carb. i know that all the hoses and gizmos have a job so i need to know what to do with it all if i remove the box. i was thinking about making a snorkle setup for it, but im not 100% sure that i want to do. any ideas???

most of the nonsense can be deleated but you will need to get a manual and sort it out. a round element air filter or snorkel would be cool. Why a holley and not an MC2100?

i didnt really look into the MC2100. i just saw how it helps with steep grades and the easy adjustments on it. i have been having a lot of problems with my old carb and just wanted something that i could work with. it wasnt the stock carb on it- it was a different one that was impossible to get the manual for. i like to go through a lot of water and i used to have the hose tucked up in the far driver corner facing the back of the engine so i didnt get any water in the engine. it worked great but now the stock port doesnt fit over the top of the carb so i cant use the same setup

If I can find the tutorial online I'll post a link to instructions for how to run the vaccum lines with a 2100, the photos wont help much but the theory will all be the same.

the v8 filter sound good, but im still afraid of water getting to the carb if i do that. that is why i was thinking about the snorkel setup. my main concern is what to do with the vacuum lines for all the stuff in the air box that i would like to get rid of.

a motorcraft 2100 mounted backwards will run damn near verticle, well beyond the performance of a holley truck avenger fyi. I wonder how the holley would run backwards?
