Junkyard seats - prices

I live within a short drive of a few junkyards, but none of them are pick and pull.

Any idea what I should pay for 2 front seats if they do the work of pulling?

I'm hoping to find Cavalier seats from a 2000.

Thanks

I just bought a set of those seats. The junkyard was half you pull and half they pull. When they pulled them they were $50, but when you pull they were $20.

I managed to find a nice set and paid $20 for each seat. The seats are in very good condition and they look good in the Jeep.

here is the link to cavalier seats in my rig

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/junkyard-seats-part-deux-424684/?highlight=deux

I went to a U-pull and the seats were $30 each flat rate for any manual bucket seat.

I paid $40 out the door, would have been $5 less if I took off the original sliders that came with the seats. I was lazy and it was closing time so now I have some sliders for an Olds Acheiva, tough to find a buyer!!!

Just got back from 2 junkyards. Only one had Cavalier seats. Unfort, it looked like a metal bar was pushing against the cloth as if the foam was worn in that area up near the right shoulder.

I also saw a set of Sunfire seats but the color was red/grey (not to crazy about that).

Both were 2000.

Maybe it's NJ, but the prices I'm being quoted are alot higher than mentioned here. He wanted $200 for the Cavalier and $150 for the Sunfire, (they pull them out).

I mentioned that the woman on the phone said $100 for the Cavalier and he said that they usually price the seats individually, but if I wanted them he would let them go for $100. But like I said the metal bar...

Anyway, I'm still on my quest and now need to look a little further away from the area.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~
Are Sunfire seats pretty much the same as Cavalier???
And does the years matter??? I found a place that has 1998 - 2002 seats.
Looking to install with little fab if needed.
the wire that you mention is not a big issue. it has happened on both cavaliers I owned in the past. the back support is held in place at the upper back by a single cross wire that bends and hooks around the tubular side frame of the seat. if the seat gets pushed from the back it will pop it right off the side seat frame. there is a very easy fix for this I learned when I took a cavalier to the stealership. remove the upper seat upholster as high as you can (it is glued to the front foam) re-hook the upper wire support around the side seat frame, secure it with a zip tie or wire (what the dealership used) to prevent the upper wire from detaching from the side support.
pull the upholsterty down and re-secure it in its channel. enjoy your seats.
on another note. $200 for those seats is robbery. you don't have any U-pulls?
here there is a few and 1 really good one. $1 to get in and everything has a set price.
for instance a solid front axle, complete end to end is like $150 don't matter if it is a 44, 60 or whatever. taurus fans are $19/$21 if you want a 30 day warranty. its a huge place an they turnover cars pretty much monthly.
Might be another screwed up state law in NJ. No pick and pulls.
since cavalier seats are cloth, won't they ruin if they get wet? The stock seats are vynal and it doesn't matter if they get wet. I'd hate to put these in and have then go the **** because they get wet. If I'm wrong someone please tell me as i would like to swap seats as well. thanks
they are cloth, but I had seat covers on my trail max seats cause they were denim finish and a pain to get clean, not to mentioned stained like a byatch. you could get seat covers if you were concerned.
Ok, I found 2 seats in a local shop for $80, pulled out of a 98 Cavalier.
Does anyone have a step by step here to pull and install?
Is there a thread on this site (I don't have the search feature) for a step by step to pull out and install?
Congrats on finding the seats!! There's only 4 torx bolts on each seat that you have to get out. You'll have to slide the seat forward and back to see/wrench on them. As with all torx bolts be prepared to cut 'em. I had to cut 2 of the 8 total.
The Cav seats bolt right in like the jeep seats, no mods needed. (Hint: don't re-use the torx bolts!) Enjoy!
