johnroot01's 95 build

ok. so earlier today i ordered my 4" RC lift. another thumbs up to customer service with ryan.

also got the 33x13.50 LTBs with new rims.

i still need to cut my old rim off. thanks for anyone posted on my last thread, but i still couldn't find a shop that would touch it. everyone is scared they will damage it more.

i should get the lift friday, so be prepared for alot of questions and pictures to come this weekend.

So, over the last couple days, i've been out working on the jeep like crazy when i find time. today i finally got all the stock junk off the front. here are some pics of the damage.

sway bar, track, and stress relief in a can

stock springs (biggest PITA)

naked view side

tomorrow i'm supposed to have alot of time off, so i'll finish the front and post the outcome. i would have got it done today, but i got rained out. keep jeepin!

got rained out again. it seems like in NC everytime i have something really important or cool planned, it starts to pour. i never had that problem in Texas.

So, it stopped raining long enough this evening for me to finish up the front end. Still have to do brake lines and piman arm, but the wife was whining about everything, so i skipped a few steps for now just to show her what its going to look like. now she's rushing me to finish because she loves it. so i took some pics to show you guys the basic look with the lift and new meats.

BTW, if anyone has pointers on an easy way to remove the pitman arm, let me know.

I would spray some pb on it and let it soak a couple days then heat with a pitman arm puller and then hit the side with a hammer. Worked for me

ok. today was kinda slow. i worked forever on the PA. no luck yet. i ended the day by starting to cut it off. most of the day i was with a buddy of mine who was getting a honda prelude for parts. he's into all the rice burner stuff, but he's also helping me with the lift, so i helped him out today.

get this........we got over there and the front end was basically disassembled completely. the drivers side axle shaft was hanging out of the housing, no brakes. the car had no doors. and the ebrake barely worked. did i mention that we were pulling this behind my sorento, using a tow strap?

so while they all stood around talking about JDM stuff (whatever that is), i got to work re-installing brake lines, axle shaft, and all. Long story short, we made the 20 mile trip, and we're still alive. i tightened the ebrake cables so that's what he used to stop behind me. he had to get a steering wheel to put in and only had his seat bolted in with one bolt. 6 hours wasted today on import junk.

another thing i had forgot about on the jeep is cutting that wheel off the rear. that is probably going to be my biggest problem back there. more pics tomorrow fellas.

yep. at first i thought it was a PITA, but now I am used to it, and its ok. it kinda helps when wheelin too. not so easy for steering to slip.
