Jeep won't turn over

Ok here is the situation I pulled the jeep out of the garage after it had been siting a couple months (hurt my back and was unable to drive it please don't revoke my jeep card). The jeep would not turn over so i tried to jump start it, and still no luck.

I picked up a new battery (optima yellow top) dropped it in and still no go. I then tried to jump start it and it started right up????? Now it sat a couple days and it is dead again.

At this point i am thinking bad cables so I went to the parts store they did not have any cables that would work so i picked up new terminals (mine where in horrible shape) put the new terminals in and still no go. Now at this point it dawns on me to get the voltage meter out and start testing.

I am showing full voltage at the battery, full voltage at the exterior fuse box and full voltage at the starter. When I turn the key I get power to all interior light and radio also the headlight work fine, but when I go to start it all I get is a couple of very slow turn overs then nothing.

Could this be a bad starter? I have had starters go on me in the past but they have never behaved like this when they have gone all I get is a clicking noise and I am not getting that here. I know I am probably missing something obvious but I am kinda at a loss right now. Any help would be appreciated

tap your starter a couple times with a hammer on the side... see if that helps, if it fires up no problem a couple times, then you can just replace the starter- something is shorting inside of it, if no change, check to see if your alternator is charging your system...if it is, then you have a short somewhere, check to see if any of your sensor cables are rubbing against the engine (Crankshaft position sensor- rear right side of the engine), let me knwo, probably your starter...
