My uncle has a 89 4.2l. It starts up cold no problem and then idles fine but when he drives it,it just cuts out like it's starving for fuel. Then it will start back up several minutes later without a problem and then do the same thing anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Next time it dies remove the air cleaner and see if the carb squirts gas when you pump the pedal. It should squirt several times. If the stream looks good I'd start suspecting the control module. If not then the fuel pump, filter, etc.
