JEEP SWAP EXPERTS! yj/yj 4.2 to 4.0 wiring harness help

i need the bulkhead wiring diagrams for 87 4.2l and for 93 4.0l

they would be really helpful seeing as i am now in the process of mating all the wires and its pretty time consuming trouble shooting each individual wire...

so far i have the ignition done

i still am trying to figure out the fuel pump and gauges

not much posted out there for yj/yj swaps

anything will help

thanks.

If you send me your email address, I can help you with the 4.0 wiring, unfortunately I have very little that would be useful for the 4.2.

Have a look at this from Pirate 4x4, it should be helpful for the older tub wiring.

I have the bulkhead pin outs for the 1988 and 1989 yj, I just wired up my 90 yj with a 93 xj harness today (head swap and efi). I found that my 90 is the same as the 88 and 89 and i understand that although the colors of the wires have changed the pin out locations have not changed from 1987-1990 so this should work for you, it worked for me today!! message me your email address and ill send you the stuff I used today.

Hi there trying to do the same thing. I know this is an old post, but I could use that pinout to rewire my jeep for EFI.

Thanks!

Changing the subject a bit

That IS a great site! That will help in the next few weeks.

BTW I did the 4.2 4.0 head swap, kept the Carter BB carb, and it is just a slow as it's ever been. I suspect the cat, but I had slugginess just going uphill with the muffler disconnected to the muffler shop.

What could possibly be the prob? Burned 10 gals for 60 miles!! ouch!

I know there are variables to consider, but gosh! This is sickening!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if in wrong post for this, new here!

That's rediculous. 6mpg. my worst was 9-10 mpg ever. it was 13 before the last time it went out. 9-10 was with the with the ford autolite mc2100 that was possessed by the devil.
