Jeep exhuast

Im looking to get an exhaust pipe/muffler. Is there any preferences on what i should get. I want it to sound good/loud but also save gas mileage if thats possible. Any brands i should look into? Im looking to stay around 250 bucks

A turbo style muffler will give a nice tone and is free flowing by design. The stock tailpipe is good enough. Jeeps do not rev high enough to need a large diameter system; go too big and you start to lose low end torque.

Ditto in the 40. I'd try a hooker aero chamber next time. The flowmaster cracked at its weld points for the baffles

As long as it's legal in your area, there is nothing wrong with it. Some states have noise pollution/excessive noise laws besides having to pass the state safety inspection/emission inspection.

Texas requires some type of muffler on the vehicle as part of the safety inspection

I don't feel like working on anything at this time so i sold my yj.

I have the cherry bomb extreme one in and two out, they go over the rear and out the back , looks tuff , I made home made baffles cause it's a little to loud for me, in a good deep way.

I like the sound of the magnaflow myself. On other people's rigs.

I am a ways away from buying exhaust and muffler, but I have decided I want my jeep as quiet as possible. If I had another '71 Monte Carlo or a turbo Capri I'd want the sound of a Thrush, but if I am in the jeep I want to be more stealth... but that's just me

How many old threads actually convince *you* to read all 36 pages? http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/length-envy-build-thread-629700/
