Jeep acting up!

My g/f had to use the jeep today and called me with a problem. She stopped dead cold in an intersection and wouldn't start again (the jeep not my g/f). After about 20 minutes it fired up and she drove it to work where it died in the parking lot again. After work she said she had to crank on it for a few seconds (could have been 2 seconds or 2 minutes since she can't give me a solid answer) and it started and drove home fine. Could that be the electronic box? Btw it's an '88 with the monster 2.5L in it.

Did you check to see if it was getting spark or fuel?

When it happens listen for the fuel pump to cycle when you turn the key on. It sounds like a bad CPS.
