Thanks, well honestly I look at it as a multimedia head unit. You get all your music, pandora, navigation apps, heads up display(speedometer). If your car is obd2 you can use it for obd(there is a plug that connects to obd2 ports and gives u trouble codes, live data etc), if your parked and need to search a business on the Internet or whatever, possibilities are endless. All the audio from it goes directly through my head unit out through the stereo.

Cool! I have a windshield mount for my iPhone for similar purposes- my son is usually playing games on the iPad if he is with. :-)

I wish there was software available for my race car to datalog to my iPad mini- I have a little Windows Netbook I have under the front seat when racing to datalog.

You can look into Rev if it is obd2. It will record live data. I don't have much experience with it so I can't tell you exactly how well it works.

Thanks for the replies. Im kicking around the idea of building a new one to change the angle on it and make it flat across the dash but kicking the bottom out so it will basically sit at the same angle as the panel for the gauges if you know what I mean. If I do give me about a week and it will be completed and I'll show the finished product

If you do build another one, send me that one!
