Someone asked before about a cleaner for interior: Armorall (sp?) has wipes out now that clean instead of polish. These take everything off. It leaves a real dull finish though on acount of it takes all of the oils and stuff out of the plastic. Just wipe it down with polish wipe after the cleaning ones and it turns out excellent!

OHHHH, my EYES!! *yarkkkk*

You shoulda mounted the TJ cluster on a steel panel, CJ-style.

Not trying to diss your work. It's just that I HATE the TJ interior...if I wanted to drive a Plymouth, I'd have BOUGHT a Plymouth! The TJ interior is just so...so anti-Jeep...

The dash vents alone will make it all worth while sa the temp continues to drop.

I had considered several other options before swapping dashes... putting the TJ cluster where the YJ guages were. Also considered cutting the dash pad above the steering wheel and fabbing a fiberglass surround for the TJ cluster.
Neither of which would have worked as well as I wanted.

I actually had to relocate the YJ wiper motor to the passenger side and reverse and cut one of the wiper linkage rods. The TJ cluster was way too thick to fit with the wiper motor in its stock location.

At the same time, I found a great deal on a brand new heater assembly from a TJ. Swapped that too.

So I should have plenty of heat and the dash bents, cluster, etc.

I know that some really dig the metal CJ style dashes...but to each his own.

Wanna buy a YJ dash?

I am trying to do what you did to get the lights to work as you did with the doors open and the dimmer. Have only two wires coming from the sound bar dome light. Red and Black. If possible could you walk me through the procedure? Thanks in advance.

black is ground red is hot. take a test light and probe the wires going to the door switch to find the hot when the door is open, not hot when its closed, tie into that, ground the black wire and you will have a light that comes on when you open a door and is also controled by the dimmer switch.
and you didn't have to wait 7 years for an answer.
