Installed my lift yesturday!

2.5"
Rides great, I love it
Took us about 7 hours with a dinner break in there somewhere

The jerks sent me the wrong rear u-bolts, so I had to run out and get new ones and we had to cut all the old ones off, as well as some others.

We also had to take the rear track bar and beat it with a sledge to straighten it enough that it would fit back in...
Quite an experience...next time i'll be getting all new everything

The more greif it puts me through, the more I seem to love it

Did you have to lower the t-case?

ok now you unbolt the track bar, measure it carefully, check the tolerances and then...

THROW IT AWAY!!

now do the same with your swaybar

didn't need to drop the T-Case
as far as the track bar...
Do I even need the track bar!?!?
We took it off and beat the hell out of it with a sledge to get it straightened a bit...

AWESOME. Love to see pics. I want to do a 2.5" with 32's on my YJ also. Seems counter-intuitive to beat the hell out of your trackbar and that it comes out straight....

Who's lift did you use?

I used the skyjacker kit
It was alright, except the one they sent me had u-bolts for a D44 rear end, so they were a little too big
The track bar at the rear is bent slightly, so we had to straighten it for it to fit...I'm wondering if this was even worthwhile...ie. Do I even need the track bar!?!?

I don't have any install pics...everything was VERY simple to do, I just used directions out of the Haynes Manual and the only problems I had were cutting bolts, and stupid track bars

as soon as I have a pic of the Jeep with the lift i'll scan it (I have a couple without the lift, but i'll probably wait and scan them all together)

I took my track bar off yesterday and I think it handles way to loose. I can live without but it all depends on what you want to build your jeep for. I am going to order the telescoping trac bar.I just cant figure out what tires to run on my 2.5" lift. Leaning torwards 32", but how wide? I want them to stick out some.

32's come in 10.50 and 11.50 widths right? With stock rims, 30x9.50's rub so you'll need new rims anyway. Might as well go for the wider tire then and get the right backspacing, it'll stick out some and give better traction.
I don't think 33's will fit with just 2.5" lift, not even with a 1" BL... 31's only come in 10.50.

Nice job drunc...
