With this picture can you tell me what my engine is from?

Are you certain that a full 4.0 swap was done and not just the head and MPI? From what I'm getting (if I'm deciphering right) that number is a 4.2 built on Feb. 6th of 1987.

Henestly you know more about my engine then me so your prob right.. because I have 4.2 flexplate and no hesco parts or anything like that but I do not have a carb... heres some pictures maybe they will help (sorry my camera broke had to use the video camera...

Something is giving a CPS signal if that engine runs. Look behind the drivers side of the intake manifold there should be wires running to the CPS bolted to the top of the bellhousing. It's just below the firewall and hard to see.
