I don't have a Cat converter and my 02 is disconnected

OK well I've been digging around inside my toy and realized the following to be a fact.

I have no catalytic converter - been removed at some point

I have no mass air flow sensor - this i think is normal??

My 02 sensor wires are just cut off- someone thought it was not necessary

But my jeep runs great, and i think i get around normal gas mileage, should i be concerned?

Do you have emissions testing in the state where you reside? If so has it passed the tests? If it has then I wouldnt worry about it. What would you consider "normal" gas mileage?

You need the O2 sensor to regulate the fuel output. Without it you are not going into closed loop and it will run but not efficently. I bet you are only seeing 14 MPG max. There isnt a Mass sensor on a jeep are you talking about the MAT Manifold air temp?

No we don't have emissions for vehicles older than 1995.

I get about 10-14 mpg yes I was under the impression it was to be expected.

No, you should see at least 17 on the freeway. you should definitely fix that. I had donating money to the oil companies. They already pick our pockets bad enough.

Agreed , I'm a tight wad and hate gas prices.

I don't do any hi-way or freeway driving really... I live 5 miles from work and that's on the outskirts of the city.

I'm going to look into an 02 sensor, why not it should be sorta cheap.
