I picked up a hydroboost unit and the master cylinder+ proportioning valve out of an 95 chevy astro van today.

gonna try and adapt it to use on the YJ.

I've got a bunch going on right now. I just picked up 79 ford high pinion dana 60 front a dana 70 rear for my 79 cherokee. Gonna bring them home this weekend. So hopefully I will be able to start working on it agan by next weekend.

I still need to buy a new MC, buy and mod the ps hoses, and find adapters to hook my stock brake lines to the new MC. And oh yea, I still havent even test fitted the unit yet. So I need to do that too.

called Vanco yesterday afternoon. their hose kit is $130 shipped. I went ahead and ordered the kit from them. Saves me the trouble of having to figure out what size connectors I need.

Last night I modified the bracket that the hydroboost bolts to. I'm pretty sure I've gotten it built to within an 1/8 of an inch of where it should be. I purposely built it a little long to allow for a little adjustment.

gotta finish up the welds on the bracket tonightt. I also have to "slot" the bolt holes where the hydroboost bolts to the bracket to allow for up and down adjustment to align the hyhdroboost properly.

got the bracket finished. cut the hole a little bigger in the firewall. It is now "keyhole" shaped. I'll have to shoot some insulation in there later to plug the hole.

bored out the hole in the hydroboost pushrod to accomodate the bushing that has to go through it.

mounted up the bracket and tightened everything up. mounted up the hydroboost and MC temporarily.

still gotta figure out where to mount the additional reservoir.

gonna re-do the brake lines before the end of the week. gotta figure out what I'm gonna do with the front brake lines. the old proportioning valve had 2 holes for the front brakes, one for each line. the new proportioning valve only has 1 hole for the front brakes and 1 for the rear. I'm guessing I'll have to get a 2 into 1 manifold for the front connection.

hopefully my PS hoses will be here at the end of the week.

some pics.

the piece of the bracket that I removed.

moved the ARB compressor down on the fender some, and out of the way.

shot of just the bracket mounted.

some shots of the hydroboost setup, mocked up.
