Now that's a wicked cool intake! I'd love to do this to my jeep! question for you tho:

Do you think the windshield will still fold?

Nice Jeep!!

I am pretty sure you could do this. There is already a drain for the cowl (obviously) so as long as you could get a 3" tube in there somewhere, should work!

I actually have my heater box out right now, I might take a look at it tonight.

Cool! exactly! folding the windshields a must when getting to the back of the dash... sometimes I wish the dash had drawer extension roller arms on the sides... hehe

I have seen guys enter the water too fast and have a wave roll over the hood...I'd be concerned about water flooding the heater intake.... or if the cowl drain plugs up with debris. Not good....

I like the hummer intake casue it looks great, Very functional (if water gets in here, I'm sinking), and doesn't stick up like a full snorkle...

I like the hummer intake. I plan on doing this on mine. I just have to figure out how to make (or what to use as) an air box with filter to connect to my carb without restricting too much air flow to the v8.

WOW I just started my intake mod and I have to say it`s a little more cramped working in that area than I was hoping, NHfireYJ did you pull out the fuse box or that damn bracket that mounts from the dash & to the firewall that's right in my way ?

Yeah I was just having problems getting the crapper flange up inside the 4" hole in cowl from underneath but with a few choice words and time I did get it in there but now I have to wait till tomorrow to buy a 3" hole saw because my buddies is so dull it just scrapes the surface, hoping to get it all together along with my lebaron hood vents (thanks for all the good idea`s) by next weekend.

It's very nice, and looks good in the lowered position, but you can't lower the windshield. I see by your setup that that is OK with you, but I like to be able to drop the windshield.

I never have nor need to.. If I want to eat bugs and have sand in my face, I take the Harley BTW If I take the cap off, I could, there is still an airfilter inline...

With the metalcloak fenders, I had to rearrange a lot of items under the hood and don't have any room along the firewall to drill currently. However, I have a ton of prefilters left over from tractor restorations.
