HPD30

Question: I currently have 3.07's and I'm going to regear with 3.73's. Can I put in 30 spline spider gears in the new carrier or will it only fit 27 spline?

The 30 spline spider gears will fit in your carrier, but you will have to get 30 spline axle shafts to work with the 30 spline spiders.

By saying "new carrier" I take it that you're already aware you'll have to change the D30 carrier due to the 3.73 & up/3.55 & down split.

Don't know what size tire you're currently running or what your future plans are, but I honestly wouldn't pay to gear to 3.73's.

looks like 33's in the profile but what are your future goals? Honestly, I would stick with 27 splines, axles are much more available on the trail if something does happen.

Looks like the D30 is still 3.07, and the D44 is already 3.73.

Ok sweet. Yes I'm aware. I just wanted to make sure before I bought the new carrier

4.10's will get you back to stock ratios in that case. I ran 3.73's for quite awhile on mine because that's what it came stock with, it wasn't horrible on 33's so if that's as big as you're going you're probably ok.

Then there ain't no time like the present to get a Detroit TrueTrac or a selectable locker for the trusty old D30!

Are you going to do the CAD delete and install a one piece passenger side axle?

I can't decide about the one piece axle... I'm only gonna put a locker in the rear if I ever do someday.
