Got my eye on you.....

How would you like to see the YJ of the month contest run????
Give me your input. I want to see how you gents would like to see the contest run. Each month I get upwards of 100 entries and have to go thru them. I am wondering if we should take the hint from other sections and go with a nomination system.
Just tell me what you want to see. Thanx guys. -Rusty ![]()

Sure!
Somehow I think my pile would never make the cut though... But it could be entertaining.

I think that would be a very cool idea rusty, less work for you. haha
But i also agree with what 57plymouth said some vehicles that are worthy might not get nominated. But theres always the next month, right. Just do the nomination system

If you do the nomination route I believe you'll increase the number of shameless picture posting threads.
I guess you could start a thread and everyone could post 1 picture for a nomination but then I still think alot of work would be involved for you. 1 picture and 1 nomination for each member.

Maybe just self submit like now, and then you randomly draw X amount out of a hat so to speak.

how about a submittal thread that is a "sticky"... anybody - anytime can post thier jeep "resume" ONCE within the year..... anyone that makes a multiple post would be disqualified......
Don't allow any comments or posts from "non-participants" in the contest in that thread. Entries will be chosen by YOU from ANY of the submitted posts.... say you pick 10 each month... the 10 picked will be eligible for that particular months' contest. Once picked, they won't be considered for at least 12 months for another chance. The jeeps/members that are picked can be given a "nominee status" in thier avatar to show that they were considered, or "chosen" for that particular month Anyone not picked can be considered in future monthly contests.... That will save you from getting zillions of emails and it will produce a great "library" thread of jeeps that we can all see and referance thru-out the year. |

How about a monthly theme, like Jan. would be best SOA YJ, Feb. would be best engine/trans swap combo, etc.
Just a thought.

i think mods should nominate members, they few the threads daily, and know what most of the regulars have going on in their jeep thing anyway.
they really have the best idea of who is actually being the YJ of the month that month, then give us like 5 for the poll. i like looking at jeeps, but with 10 jeeps its a hard decision. Like i forget the first ones half way down page 2. |
