I parked it in the garage all winter, and collected parts for the build, and checked out JeepForum a lot during that time. Started tearing it down in May, had it on the road in July.
Here it is with a newly installed 4" Rough Country suspension lift, and the same 3" Body Lift (just a pic for height reference).
Oh yeah- and 33" BFG KM2's.

Progress

The body lift came out, and I installed a 1" Daystar body mount set.
Also yanked the sport rollbar and installed the family bar.
Covered up that nasty hole in the driver seat with some nicely color coordinated duct tape!
Have I mentioned that I'm looking for a nice set of black buckets?

Current

So here it is in it's current state.
Added Raingler Nets and American Outlaw mirrors.
I plan on upgrading the drivetrain over the winter.
For now I'm just having the best time blasting around with the stock 2.5 & 5-speed!

how bad will it look with 31s on a 3.5 lift? my jeep doesn't see much highway time, but occasionally i take it to the lake which can be up to 60 miles depending which one i go to.
Alright lets see if I can answer these. My flares are trimmed, but I wouldn't need them to be trimmed to fit the tires.

I have Wrangler MT/Rs and love them on and off road, they are 33x12.5s. They have little road noise, they wear great(have em for a yr and look brand new.) Go with the 33s personally, you see ALOT of people who go 31s and then about a week later want 33s.

I have driven almost 150 miles in the Jeep to and from off-roading and they did perfectly fine.

before and after 3.5" black diamond lift on 31's

before the lift it was sagging about 2"..... actually gave 5.5" total due to the sag
.... i'll try to get a better pics up after my MTs get put on.
btw the kit is very good. except for the missing bolts.... i had to hit the hardware store to get 2 of the bolts that were missing from the kit.... rough ride

Here is my YJ on 37's with SOA and stock springs. Not enough tire clearance so I went down to 35's.
