How much should I lower it...

Now that I got your attention

I think I am going to start with .75" and hope the springs sag a little... the front shackles are being cut down already. and the rears are next. I really am digging the stance!

I can't wait to get this bugger back on the road. It has been down for awhile.

Though it will be a little bit before I can get the front axle re-geared to 4.88.

The first picture shows the axle I originally installed (LP HD D44) I just sold that because the lockouts were stupid expensive, smaller axle tubes, and the LP. My buddy ran and picked up the HD HP D44 today for me... gotta throw that in and see where I stand. I already have better lockouts for it.

Here are the pics...

My buddy and I are doing the rust repair while we are at it....

Holy rust, Batman. Time for some POR!

How tall are those shackles, now? being soa, I would'nt make more than .5" over.

Stupid Michigan, that is the only rust on it though, since I fixed the W/s frame and passenger floor prior to this...

IIRC they were 2" longer then stock POS shackles. My buddy called and said that he took 1.5" off with the plasma cutter, cut them apart and is redoing them all nice, so there should end up being minimal lift out of the shackles.

Need to make my shafts, install an SYE, and order the steering parts and I should be good to go (not that order)

I'll need a traction bar, but I can do that a little later this summer when I have more of the wedding stuff out of the way...

As a former (40 Years) Michigan resident I can say from experience Michigan Sucks.
I bought my 92 in 2004 and it didn't have much rust but since I moved to New Mexico the rust went into remission.
Don't ya just love those car turds that drop on the floor or you if you're under it.

Yea you got the right idea. A lot of POR and probably some wire wheels and brushes. I'd probably paint the whole inside of the tub.
