How hard is a body lift.

I got a daystar poly urethene body lift kit. It is only 1 inch so i can get body armor and such in the future. Anyway, How hard is this? What is the time estimate. Keep in mind i have never done this.

I will be doing this with one of my friends. Any tips? Things you wish you had known before yo ugot into it?
I have heard to allocate 5 hours, and thats ok, but anything else?
Recommend more time? Any prep work i should do?

Thanks a lot.

1 inch Daystar body. Herculined. I know it ain't much but I take it like you should off-road. Slowly.

spray all the body mount bolts with some lubricant of some sort to get any deposits or rust broken up to make the bolts easier to get off, wd40, pbBlaster, liquid wrench take your pick

spray all the bolts with pb blaster or simalar product every day for couple days ahead of time. other then that it is simple, just follow the directions . took me 2-1/2 hours by myself with no help.

With two of you working 5 hrs should be a safe bet. If you have no problems it should only take you 2 hrs easy. Like others have said spray all the bolts before you start. Spray them every day for about a week before you start. Be aware if bolts break or nuts spin it's gonna increase the time greatly. It took me 2 days to do mine but I had the passenger rear bolt breal and the driver front nut spin. I also painted the frame while I had the body raised up. Good luck. If you run into any problems give me a shout.

I got lucky I guess. I did my DayStar 1" body lift on Sunday night. Took me a little under 2 hours to perform it. All I have to do now is remount my radiator fan shroud.

I should have sprayed all of the bolts beforehand, but for some reason I didn't. Every bolt came out easy on mine .

Good luck.

I was just wondering how bad of a shift linkage problem you might have with a 3" body lift.

I put a 2" on, and now that it's getting cold, the boots cause my 4x4 to pop out untill the it gets soft enugh to stay locked in. 3" would be even worse, unless you extended the shaft. My tranny doesn't give me too much trouble, it has to be really cold (10 below seems to do it once or twice) for the tranny to pop out.
