Mine finally broke clean off so that my wipers are stuck on, the metal rod is still sticking out so I can use the turn signals, but all the wires are shot to hell so I'm just trying to find a part that will work. I have a 91 JC. Evidently there isn't any 91 parts floating around. How new do you think I can go on parts before they don't fit? I haven't taken the steering wheel off yet to see what the insides look like.

Good Luck
THIS^ you have to be patient and drill in the center, but it can be done. Be very careful with the hardened steel tap, if it breaks off in there, it's the full steering wheel removal to get it out.

The switch, lever, and wiring from a 90s model XJ (as common as gravel in the pick-a-part yards) is a direct replacement. You'll need a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel and some sockets to drop the column down.
