How do I find out what size lift my YJ has?

I got a YK but the guy I bought it from didnt know about the lift on it. I'm assuming i can find out by measuring the shackles where the springs attach to the frame but I'm not sure. Is this the best way to find out? I dont think it has a body lift but where should I be looking to confirm this?

stock height of Jeep to rocker panels = 18"

Measure your Jeep and determine total height then you can figure out how much is spring and shackle

Per the YJ FAQ

Stock height of Jeep to rocker panels - 18". So measure your YJ and subtract 18 from that number.

Edit^^^beat me to it lol

To add though the stock shackles are 4" bolt to bolt. If your shackles are longer then you have a shackle lift. Each extra inch bolt to bolt is 1/2in in lift. ie shackles 6" bolt to bolt are 1" lift shackles.

Don't you also have to subtract the stock size tires (29in?) from the size of the aftermarket tires too?

Wouldnt the height of the tire make a difference is measuring it from the rocker panel?

What size tire is that? I'm wanting to say it looks like a 2.5" lift or so.

The way I did it (hopefully the right way) was to measure from ground to rocker (26in for me) then I subtracted 4in since I have 33s & stock tire is 29, that gave me 22in so I figure I have 4in of lift. I'm pretty sure this is the way to measure because I found other threads that said this is the way to do it.

Yes, every extra inch of tire is also 1/2 inch of lift

So, 23" from floor to panel, tires are 2.5" higher over stock, 23-2.5= 20.5 or a 2.5" lift? OK so where can I find this lift. I've never had anyone show me where the actual lift brackets are.
