How come there are no custom grills...

Grills? I've looked everywhere and I haven't even seen them on extreme builds. I know some people with YJ's go circle headlights but that's about it. Are there any out there and I'm just missing them?

The grill is so cool you don't need to mod it so they don't make em. Then again you could get one of them mesh bug catcher grill cover things.

Because
  • Changing the grill in no way improves the off road capabilities of the jeep.
  • Changing the grill is like changing the shape of a Coke Bottle. It's iconic of the brand.
  • Changing the grill would most likely be more hassle than it's end result.

There was a jeep build that had a liberty nose on it that looked really cool. Was on pirate but not sure if it ever got finished.

The grille isn't like the grill on a K-5 Blazer. Basically a plastic insert held on by 6 phillips screws. It's the grille, core support, fender support ect.

It's a somewhat complex couple of pieces of stamped steel. The selling price would reflect it and make it somewhat unpopular. How many threads do we see where people are looking for the cheapest possible lift no matter how crappy it is? Unfortunately many Americans have forgotten what quality is. They will buy products made by slave child labor in a communist country and not bat an eye as long as it's cheap.
So an expensive low production grill is unlikely for a vehicle out of production for 20 years.

Olds, isn't that a TJ?

The grille is what says JEEP..
Like the rad surround on a 32 Highboy.
Or the BMW twin ovals.
Or the Aston Martin grill Ford is now cloning.

Just because you can do it does not mean it should be done.

I've seen this same hood/grill combo on a YJ. IMHO looks better than the TJ or CJ grill / hood swaps.

I mainly just wonder because you see it a lot on newer jeeps. I know the picture is bad but I tried to PS the best to get to see the look. I'm sure if I put the right color with say smitty fenders and stuff, it would go.
