Hose help HELP

I need some help. I have a 1989 Jeep wrangler with the 4.2 liter six engine in it and an automatic transmission. I recently purchased a weber 38 series carborator and hooked everything up according to the directions. The one item that WAS NOT covered in the directions was the breather hose/tube for the back side of the valve cover. When I purchased the jeep it had the stock carb on it and the hose that went to the back of the valve cover hooked up to the air cleaner. I now have hooked up the line to the top side of the new aircleaner but I think that I should have just installed a breather cap instead. If I should have put a cap in the valve cover where do i get one? Please someone help me out... I am frustrated with the weber carb and its lack of directions. I know its supposed to be a great product but its killing me......

thank you in advance for any help.....

Thank you everyone for your help. I have been struggling with this weber carb set up for weeks. I dont know what I would do with out all of your help!

thank you

The trouble with putting a breather style cap in the v/c is I'll bet you'll get oil running out of it. Make sure the PVC valve setup is working correctly before doing this .. trust me.

Likewise here. Although I just changed out all the filters, cleared the PCV valve and hose, and didn't notice anymore oil coming out of the breather filter. However, I do have oil leaks just about everywhere else (dipstick, by power steering pump, oil pan gasket, etc...) I have a lot of work cut out for me.

When I ripped my Carter and replaced it with a MC2100 I had the same problem.

Solution: Went to Autozone and pick up a plastic filter holder with filter in it-pulled that one out and stuffed a bigger filter in holder and routed next to fire wall. Pulled it out for picture- Filter cover hard to see in picture-oil covered on left side of hose. The oil deposit on the jeep frame and motor is next to none since doing that and replacing oil cap and oil filter.
