Hood was shut over pin and latch is stuck.

I am trying to help a friend that closed their hood and the pin was turned so the hood went over it. The latch is also jammed and looks to be off center. Any ideas of how I can fix it for them?

you "friend" needs to just work at it a while.

push it back center best you can and and work on that latch. If it's under pressure from the side it will be tough to so with out bending anything. Second option is to unbolt the hood then slide it over to release the pressure.

the Hood shouldn't bend, I've flexed mine as much as a foot from side to side lol. push real hard down on the center of the hood, and on the center latch (to your left) should pop open with enough force. Thats one shiny YJ you've got there!

There are two little nuts holding that pin from under that fender. See if you can remove them, and maybe slide the pin out of the way.
