Hood prop or lay the hood right back on the windsheild frame?
My non jeeper friends all laugh when they come over and see my hood laying back on the windshield frame. I think I am going to take the hood prop right off, I've never used it and I could shave off a couple pounds

Shaving pounds with a hood prop?? Maybe one.
Might want to leave it, I never really use mine, but needed it when it was in my friends garage cause the door opener stopped it from coming all the way back. Good to have just in case.

Funny you said that because just the other day I had the hood laying back on the windshield frame and decided to push my Jeep out of the garage and the hood caught on my door and ripped the bottom seal half off the garage door, won't be too hard to fix just ripped a few screws out

Yeah, I left it in the driveway near the sidewalk, dumb. I went inside to order the gaskets from quadratec. heh. Still have the new gaskets!

Keep it. I've had to get under the hood on a windy day before. If a strong enough wind catches the hood when it's leaned on the windshield, you're going to be eating your engine block.

Seriously is this the kind of mod people are interested in now? What happened to the jeep world? I bet this wouldn't even shave a half a pound. And for sure the power gain isn't worth the time of pulling out a bolt. If your worried about shaving weight why not sand all the paint off?

Take a look at this. Chicago listing. It has been on there for about a month he might take 80....and ship.
