Hood insulation
I just got my Jeep painted - and was talking to a friend who said that maybe I should put insulation under the hood to prevent the hood paint from burning out quickly.
I've found some info on the web about this - and it looks like you can buy insulation at a Jeep dealer for about $40. Has anyone done this - do some years already have insulation? Can you add insulation to a year that never had it? Thanks, Helter

I don't think any Jeeps...CJs or Wranglers anyway...came with insulation, but I don't see why you couldn't it

If you do much Off roadind in mud, water or beach you may find the insulation will get wet so while you may not burn your paint out you may rust it out.

Well, I think some Jeeps did come with liners. I know in my FSM they do mention insulation. I've never seen one other then what people have added themselves. I haven't had a need and don't see spending money on it when I'm turning 35's and hi-flow exhaust. I've never had problems with paint under my hood.
