Huh? Ummm, am I wrong or do TJ's not have a shift motor housing and the split axles? So there is no need for a Posi-lok in a TJ, right?

I just went to NAPA, and got the cable, and was talking with my grandpa about this. I need to go get the union for it. I just found a tension sping laying around in his basement, and Pulled it apart so now it is a compression spring. Looks to be about the same size.

I thought about the cable, and that when it bends, it spreads open. Which lets water in. And SALT... which we have alot of in this area in the winter. I'm going to run my cable inside a 1/4"-5/16" rubber fuel line, or vacuum line. From the housing, all the way in the cab. We have a bunch of rolls of it in my garage, since you never know when you might need to replace a hose.

Hopefully I get around to it this weekend.

EDIT: Just read thru page 3, and I see somebody else was thinking like me.

thanks for the welcome!

i got this done today, i mounted the pull switch beside the 4x4 lever thru the floor. i could have used the 5' cable this way lol. i put the cable in a plastic tubing from work (i work in a waste water lab) fit perfect. i cut the bladder housing off and covered the end with a plastic cap (again from work), works great.

the only thing i screwed up on was i put the fork in backwards lol. got that straight and tried it out.

wish i could post pics, done some good mudding today. a guy that was stuck took some great pics, waiting on the email.

i got some pics at the house of the cherokee. thanks guy's

if you have a body lift make sure the shifter isnt hitting the body. if thats not it, get some one to shift if while you get under and see if it going in all the way, may be a linkage problem..not running of course...

thanks man, i don't have a body lift, but i'll try the linkage out. altho it appeared to be fine when i swapped the engine-tranny over.

i have the transfer case from the 91,(had the vacuum). will it work on the 92' setup i'm running? (no vacuum)

engine and tranny are the same, the transfer cases were different.

or point me in the rite direction, if there are write ups on this.

thanks for the help.

Thats good you put that up here, it will help someone in the future, i wish i would have had it before i done mine.. If i had it to do over again i would but the kit to do it instead of all the running around looking for parts, made 3 trips back and forth just finding the right spring , spring too heavy - hard to pull...too light and it wont go back...
thanks for the links...
