Do i have to do anything with the vacuum lines? Mine got cut while replacing floor pans hence why i am going to do this mod. Can i just leave them connected to the housing or do i have to cap them at the vacuum source and remove them?

Vacuum source has to be capped or you lose all vacuum. Things like the MAP sensor would not work.

Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

I think we should place all of our elderly in prisons. They will get a shower a day, video surveillance in case of any problems, three hot well balanced tailor made meals a day respecting their religious beliefs and nutritional needs, access to a library, computers, TVs, gym.
Put criminals in nursing homes. They will have cold meals, lights off at 7pm, one bath a week, live in a smaller room AND will be forced to pay $4,000- $8,000 a month!
It's pretty damn sad that we treat prisoners better than the elderly.

air locking instead of cable

has anyone tried this with OBA? ive been thinking about it wen i put onboard air in soon. i have fittings, valves, guages, and a pneumatic piston that travels about 1.5-2 inches. could you apply the same concept?

btw the parts were free so theres no loss if it wouldnt work.

I think that using a small piston and air pressure (unless regulated to a very low maximum PSI) would be too powerful that is why Jeep used vacuum to move the sliding collar only about 1".

If I have an Aussie locker up front and Install this posi lock then essentially I would have a poor mans selectable locker up front, right?

To some degree but not really. I mean you're not engaging the Aussie only the passenger side shaft.

What I am saying is, when in 4wd i am engaging both differentials, with an Aussie up front and a posi lock installed I can engage both axles or I can disengage the passenger side axle and thus have a "poor mans locker" because the driver side is still engaged because of the locker.

more like a poor handling jeep, i was really disappointed in mine. on solid ground it will lunge to one side under acceleration when disengaged. on icy conditions when you let up on the gas the jeep will do a 360! it only helps a little while turning on a granite slab to have it disengaged

it has worked great so far. the rear however is a different story. the spring and pins wore out in less than a year. the replacement parts were free but the diagnosis and replacing was a pain. its working as good as it can for now. rear auto lockers can be dangerous

Sure it would work fine, the only reason jeep used vacumum is because that's what they had.
